A Call for Harmony and Cordiality Between the Spouses

A CALL FOR  HARMONY AND CORDIALITY BETWEEN THE SPOUSES.

Marital happiness resembles the honey produced by two bees; the greater their efforts are, the sweeter it will be. There is ‎no doubt that marital happiness is the ‎responsibility of both spouses and this necessitates the existence of ‎love between them.‎

At the same time, we say that the happy house does not only depend on ‎love, but also the spirit of tolerance must be present. Marriage in the sight of Islam means psychological tranquility, spiritual comfort, and heartfelt harmony as well as cooperation between the two spouses to make the permanent journey of life together.

The Quran describes the marital relationship in the most eloquent way saying (what means): {And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy.} [Quran 30:21]

This affection and cordiality can solve any problem, and there will be problems between lovers who love each other sincerely, and not just because of personal interests.

This is a call for cordiality and love between the spouses and a call for overlooking faults.

How can we achieve cordiality and harmony between the spouses?

We can achieve cordiality and harmony through the following stages:

- Kind mutual frankness has a magical influence on marital life.

- Ask your wife to sit next to you and embrace her along with giving her looks and touches that express your love and longing for her. Treat your wife kindly and she will do the same to you. Make her feel that you favor her over yourself and that you are keen on making her happy and maintain her health. Let her know that you sacrifice for her sake when she is sick, for example.

- Play with your wife and joke with her to arouse her feelings and emotions towards you. Learn from the Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) who said: “It is better to marry a virgin who plays with you and you play with her.”[Al-Bukhari]

- Even ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, who was an example of seriousness and prudence said, “One should be like a boy among his family [i.e. in terms of cordiality and kindness], but when he deals with the people, he should be a man.”

- The wife should receive her husband heartily after adorning herself and applying good perfume.

- Look at the faults of your husband with the eyes of a lover, because this will make you see his mistakes as trivial faults.

- Be quiet when your husband gets angry and later speak with him about what he did and rebuke him cordially.

- I advise the husband to always be calm and avoid anger, because anger causes hatred. If you have wronged your wife, apologize to her, and never spend a night while you are angry with her or with her shedding tears. Always remember that what made you angry is only a trivial matter that does not deserve to disturb your marital life. Seek refuge with Allah The Almighty from the accursed devil and try to be calm. Always bear in mind that the bonds of love between you and your wife are too pure to be blemished by a temporary outrage.

- Dear wife, keep yourself busy with satisfying your husband to receive what pleases you. A Bedouin woman said to her daughter, “Be his bondmaid, and he will be your slave.”
Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, reported that the Messenger of Allah  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) said: "Any woman who dies while her husband is pleased with her will enter Paradise.” [At-Tirmithi]

- Always call him “My darling” and tell him that you love him, because this is not for lovers but rather for spouses.

- If you are a working woman, do not allow the problems of work disturb the relationship between you and your husband. Leave all the problems associated with your work in your workplace and return home without any concerns.

- Dear husband, if you dislike anything in your wife, remember her good qualities to get rid of any bad feelings towards her. Remember the Hadeeth in which the Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) said: “A believer should not hate a believing woman (i.e., his wife); if he dislikes one of her characteristics he would be pleased with another.”
So, try to overlook the negative aspects in the personality of your wife and remember that she has many other good aspects to make up for this negative aspect.

- Make your wife feel that she is safe and you will never let her down or abandon her.

- Deal with your wife’s behavior and mistakes with forbearance and away from any hostile behavior.

- Do not insult your wife because insults would be deeply engraved in your wife’s heart and mind. The most dangerous abuses that may not be forgiven by your wife are to lose your temper and beat her or curse her family or raise doubts about her chastity.

- “You are a wonderful woman, but….” Avoid this style of praise, because your wife will forget everything and only remember the “but”.

Here, we want to pose the following question: Do harmony and cordiality between the spouses affect the life of the family members?

To answer this question, we should mention the importance of cordiality and harmony in the life of the family:

- Harmony strengthens the relationship between the man and woman and increases the husband’s wish to get close to his wife.

- Harmony and cordiality refreshes the marital life and renews the love of the spouses every day.

- It increases the husband’s respect for the family of his wife and vice versa.

- Harmony and cordiality spread tranquility in the house.

- Harmony makes both spouses realize their roles in the true sense of the word as a husband and a father for the man and as a wife and a mother for the woman.

- Harmony and cordiality renew the faith-boosting environment in the home, refine the souls and strengthen the relationship with Allah The Almighty.

- Harmony and cordiality improve the relationship between the spouses and their friends and relatives.

- Harmony and cordiality enable the parents to treat the problems of the children wisely and calmly away from hostility and anger.

- Harmony and cordiality improve the psychological stability of the children and their relationship with and attachment to their parents. In this way, they will seek help and support from their parents when they face any problem.

- Harmony and cordiality decrease the amount of disagreements with the children and achieve mutual understanding between children and parents. Likewise, the children’s educational achievements will improve.

May Allah The Almighty provide all Muslim families with the harmony to lead happy lives.

Vows Made Before Embracing Islam

VOWS MADE BEFORE  EMBRACING  ISLAM

Question:

A few years ago, before I became a Muslim, I did not know which religion was true. This worried me, so I made many promises to God in the hopes that he would forgive my sins and lead me to salvation. These promises, usually to abstain from food, drink or other things for a short period, became a great burden on me, so I eventually promised to take no more promises. I certainly intended this to mean I would make no more promises to God. I may have also intended it to mean that I would make no more promises to men, but I cannot fully remember my intention. Because of this vow, I have a few questions.

1. Must I still keep this vow I made before I became a Muslim?
2. If so, since I no longer remember what exactly I intended by the vow, how should I try to keep it.
3. Does marriage involve the making of promises to God and men, or does it only require a statement of intention? Would my vow prevent me from marrying?
Thank you

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad  is His Slave and Messenger.

We ask Allah The Almighty to reward you for being keen to embrace Islam and we congratulate you on the favor that Allah has bestowed upon you by guiding you to Islam.

As for the promises you made before embracing Islam, you are not required to fulfill them even if you promised Allah to offer a good deed as long as this took place before embracing Islam, let alone promising Him to abstain from food, drink, marriage, or the like. So, you are not required to abstain from any of these things.

However, we draw you attention to the fact that a Muslim should not take the matter of promising Allah The Almighty or promising people lightly, because this may lead him to neglect fulfilling his promises and thus fall under the dispraise mentioned in the following verse:

Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah, [saying], "If He should give us from His bounty, we will surely spend in charity, and we will surely be among the righteous." But when He gave them from His bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they refused. So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.} [Quran 9:75-77]

Allah Knows best.

How Many Treasures Do You Want In Paradise (Jannah)

HOW MANY TREASURES DO YOU WANT IN PARADISE?

Praise is due to Allah the Almighty, peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Prophet Muhammad, his Family, his Companions and whosoever follows him. Paradise is the greatest gift to every Muslim and every wise Muslim takes the advantage to get more blessings in this beautiful place. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us about a marvelous mean to gain treasures in Paradise. Abu Musa (may Allah the Almighty be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him:

يا عبد الله بن قيس: أَلاَ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَنْزٍ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ؟!» قُلْتُ: "بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ"، قَالَ: «لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللهِ

(Interpretation):

Should I not direct you to a treasure from amongst the treasures of Paradise? I ('Abdu-Allah b. Qais) said: Allah's Messenger, do it, of course. Thereupon he (the Prophet Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then recite: “La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah" (i.e. There is no might and no power but that of Allah) (Muslim)

" Indeed, we  can gain a treasure in Paradise every time we say “La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah":

Importantly, we can also gain a treasure in Paradise via spreading the benefit of this glorious Hadith to other Muslims. We can remind Muslims with the value of this magnificent reward by social media like Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and so on. We can teach our family members to sustain them for getting treasures in Paradise. In one minute we can say “La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah" around 40 times to get 40 treasures in Paradise, in 10 minutes we can say “La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah" around 400 times to get 400 treasures in Paradise. In one hour we can say “La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah" around 2400 times to get 2400 treasures in Paradise. Thus, we have to ask ourselves everyday: "How many treasures do we want in Paradise?"

Happiness Is in Obedience to Allah, Not in Sins

HAPPINESS IS IN OBEDIENCE TO ALLAH, NOT IN SINS

I want to feel good most of the time and not rely on anyone. I do not have friends but would love to, and I do not have a boyfriend but would like to, and I do not have a sexy body but would like to, and I dream of taking my hijab off. None of my friends wear it, and they all have friends; they are all normal while I am not. Can I fast, pray, or do anything, like literally anything, to experience endless happiness and love? Please tell me how I can feel happy without drugs, friends, a boyfriend, and goods. Is there a way, or should I do all these things in order to feel high and happy for a few hours?

Thank you!

Note: I love God and think He is so sweet, but I am lost in fitnah (temptation, tribulation).

Answer

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah.

The need to feel good is present in each and every one of us. Allah, the Most Merciful, created us with desires, but at the same time he made us different from animals by giving us intellect and intelligence. If you were given a choice to enter a house for an hour and have all the things that you desire in this world, without limits, in it, but after an hour you will have to go to the basement where they will cut you into small pieces, would you choose to do so? If your answer is that you would go and fulfil your desire, then there is no point in reading the rest of the answer because it means that you have lost the most precious thing in this life: your ability to reason.

I would expect that you are intelligent (ma sha’ Allah) enough to say that you would never choose to do the above (if it was ever feasible); therefore, be consistent and never fall into contradictions. This life, Allah created it and filled it with things that fit our desires, and He gave us intellects and ordered us to worship Him alone. For any desire in this world, there is a halal alternative, it might require patience to achieve it, but it definitely feels much better in this life, and more importantly, has no bad consequences in this life or the Hereafter. Our life is temporary, and we were created for a reason. What makes us humans and not animals is that we can choose the best of two good things and stay away from the worst of two evils.

Every human being looks for happiness, joy, and delight, but to achieve that, we need six important things:

1- Knowledge of what is beneficial and good:

We are limited, and that is why we need Allah, the Most high, to inform us of what is good and beneficial for us, so refer to the Quran and Sunnah to know what is good.

2- The path to take to attain that good:

The only path is the path of revelation; the Quran and the Sunnah. It is a path that all Prophets and righteous people took, and they reached their final destination in peace. This path requires patience and dedication with certainty.

3- To actually take that path of goodness:

Knowledge is important, but it is only half the way to delight and happiness; unless you put the knowledge into actions, there is no benefit in it. Efforts, courage, struggle, and patience need to be in place to actually take the path to Paradise and goodness.

4- Knowledge of what is harmful and bad:

On the other hand, you have to know what is harmful; otherwise, happiness will not be attained. If you do all kinds of good things, one small harm can ruin all of it. Therefore, we need to know what is evil and bad. Again, humans are limited, we need knowledge of what is harmful, and it was given to us by Allah in the Quran and Sunnah.

5- The paths of evil and what is bad:

Evil and what is bad have so many different paths; the only way to know that is by learning what Allah wants from us in the Quran and the Sunnah.

6- To actually avoid the paths of evil:

Desires, temptations, peer pressure, and most importantly Shaytan (the devil) will try to take you to the path of evil and destruction. Shaytan will adorn and beautify the evil in your eyes, and unless you have the knowledge, patience, dedication, fear of Allah, hope for His rewards, and love of Allah, you will not be able to succeed.

Turn to Allah alone and ask Him for guidance and help, stay in a good environment with people who remind you of Allah, and beware of befriending those who commit sins that take them away from Allah.

May Allah Guide Us All

Crow-According To Quran

Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, “O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?” And he became of the regretful. (Quran 5:31)

And recite to them the story of Adam’s two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], “I will surely kill you.” Said [the former], “Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. (Quran 5:27)

If you should raise your hand against me to kill me – I shall not raise my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds. (Quran 5:28)

Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers.” (Quran 5:29)

And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. (Quran 5:30)

Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, “O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?” And he became of the regretful. (Quran 5:31)

Bee's_According to Quran

And your Lord inspired to the bee, “Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct. (Quran 16:68)

Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]. There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. (Quran 16:68)

Hoopoe-According To Quran

Solomon inspected the birds and said, ‘Why do I not see the hoopoe? Is he absent? (Quran 27:20)

COMPLETE CONTEXT

Prophet Solomon was a king and he had the control and ability to talk to all animals and jinns, therefore, Allah Almighty describes his story in the following verses:

He (Solomon) inspected the birds, and said: “What is the matter that I see not the hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? (Quran 27:20)

I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization.” (Quran 27:21)

It was not long before the bird came and said, “I have found out something you do not know. I have just come to you from Sheba with sure news. (Quran 27:22)

“I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. (Quran 27:23)

“I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah’s) Way, so they have no guidance,” (Quran 27:24)

Should they not worship God, who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and earth and knows both what you people conceal and what you declare? (Quran 27:25)

Allah – there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne.” (Quran 27:26)

Solomon said, ‘We shall see whether you are telling the truth or lying. (Quran 27:27)

Go with this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then stand aside and see how they will respond.” (Quran 27:28)

The Queen of Sheba said, ‘Counsellors, a gracious letter has been delivered to me. (Quran 27:29)

It is from Solomon, and it reads: ‘In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. (Quran 27:30)

Do not be arrogant with me, but come to me, fully submitting ˹to Allah˺.’” (Quran 27:31)

She said, “O chiefs! Advise me in this matter of mine, for I would never make any decision without you.” (Quran 27:32)

They said: “We have great strength, and great ability for war, but it is for you to command; so think over what you will command.” (Quran 27:33)

She reasoned, “Indeed, when kings invade a land, they ruin it and debase its nobles. They really do so! (Quran 27:34)

But I will certainly send him a gift, and see what ˹response˺ my envoys will return with.” (Quran 27:35)

So when (the messengers with the present) came to Sulaiman (Solomon), he said: “Will you help me in wealth? What Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay, you rejoice in your gift!” (Quran 27:36)

[Then Sulaiman (Solomon) said to the chief of her messengers who brought the present]: “Go back to them. We verily shall come to them with hosts that they cannot resist, and we shall drive them out from there in disgrace, and they will be abased.” (Quran 27:37)

He said: “O chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me surrendering themselves in obedience?” (Quran 27:38)

A powerful one from among the jinn said, “I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy.” (Quran 27:39)

But the one who had knowledge of the Scripture said, “I can bring it to you in the blink of an eye.” So when Solomon saw it placed before him, he exclaimed, “This is by the grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful, it is only for their own good. But whoever is ungrateful, surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Most Generous.” (Quran 27:40)

Then he said, ‘Disguise her throne, and we shall see whether or not she recognizes it.’ (Quran 27:41)

So when she arrived, it was said [to her], “Is your throne like this?” She said, “[It is] as though it was it.” [Solomon said], “And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allah ]. (Quran 27:42)

She was prevented by what she worshiped instead of Allah, for she came from a disbelieving people.’ (Quran 27:43)

Then it was said to her, ‘Enter the hall,’ but when she saw it, she thought it was a deep pool of water, and bared her legs. Solomon explained, ‘It is just a hall paved with glass,’ and she said, ‘My Lord, I have wronged myself: I devote myself, with Solomon, to God, the Lord of the Worlds.’ (Quran 27:44)

Dogs_According To Quran

They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, “Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals (Including Dogs) which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah .” Indeed, Allah is swift in account. (Quran 5:4)

And their dog stretching forth his two forelegs at the entrance [of the Cave or in the space near to the entrance of the Cave (as a guard at the gate)].
 (Quran 18:18)

Birds_According To Quran

Do they not see the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Most Beneficent (Allah). (Quran 67:19)

Mosquito_According to Quran

Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example – that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did Allah intend by this as an example?” He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient. (Quran 2:26)

Spider_According to Quran

The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spiderwho takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew. (Quran 29:41)

Horse-According To Quran

And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know. (Quran 16:8)

There are several other places in Quran where horse is mentioned such as:

Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire – of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return. (Quran 3:14)

And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them.” But Satan does not promise them except delusion. (Quran 17:64)

[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. (Quran 38:31)

And what Allah restored [of property] to His Messenger from them – you did not spur for it [in an expedition] any horses or camels, but Allah gives His messengers power over whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent. (Quran 59:6)

Cow-According To Quran

And [subsequently] the king said, “Indeed, I
have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being
eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven
green spikes [of grain] and others [that were]
dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my
vision, if you should interpret
visions.” (Quran 12:43).

The cow is mentioned in several verses of the Quran including the following:

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, “Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow.” They said, “Do you take us in ridicule?” He said, “I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant.” (Quran 2:67)

They said, “Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is.” [Moses] said, “[Allah] says, ‘It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,’ so do what you are commanded.” (Quran 2:68)

They said, “Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color.” He said, “He says, ‘It is a yellow cow, bright in color – pleasing to the observers.’ ” (Quran 2:69)

They said, “Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is. Indeed, [all] cowslook alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided.” (Quran 2:70)

He said, “He says, ‘It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth nor to irrigate the field, one free from fault with no spot upon her.’ ” They said, “Now you have come with the truth.” So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it. (Quran 2:71)

[He said], “Joseph, O man of truth, explain to us about seven fat cows eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry – that I may return to the people; perhaps they will know [about you].” (Quran 12:46)

In fact, there is one complete chapter of Quran named “Al Baqarah” in Arabic, which means ” The Cow”.

Sheep-Accordong to Quran

He said, “It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses.”(Quran 20:18)

There are several other places in Quran where sheep are mentioned, such as:

The example of those who disbelieve is like that of one who shouts at what hears nothing but calls and cries cattle or sheep – deaf, dumb and blind, so they do not understand. (Quran 2:171)

[They are] eight mates – of the sheep, two and of the goats, two. Say, “Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you should be truthful.” (Quran 6:143)

And to those who are Jews We prohibited every animal of uncloven hoof; and of the cattle and the sheep We prohibited to them their fat, except what adheres to their backs or the entrails or what is joined with bone. [By] that We repaid them for their injustice. And indeed, We are truthful. (Quran 6:146)

And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field – when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement. (Quran 21:78)

Snake-According To Qur'an

So Moses threw down his staff and—behold!—it became a real snake. (Quran 7:107)

COMPLETE CONTEXT

Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.). (Quran 7:103)
And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds: “Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me.” (Quran 7:104-105)
[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said: “If you have come with a sign, show it forth, – if you are one of those who tell the truth.” (Quran 7:106)
So Moses threw down his staff and—behold!—it became a real snake. (Quran 7:107)
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. (Quran 7:108)
The chiefs of the people of Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: “This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer; Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?” (Quran 7:109-110)
They said: Put him off and his brother, and send collectors into the cities: Who will bring you every learned magician.” (Quran 7:111-112)
And so the sorcerers came to Fir’aun (Pharaoh). They said: “Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us if we are the victors.” (Quran 7:113)
He said (Pharaoh): “Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me).” (Quran 7:114)
They said: “O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?” (Quran 7:115)
He [Musa (Moses)] said: “Throw you (first).” So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic. (Quran 7:116)
And We (Allah) inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): “Throw your stick,” and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they showed. (Quran 7:117)
Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. (Quran 7:118)
So they were defeated there and then, and were returned disgraced. (Quran 7:119)
And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah ]. (Quran 7:120)
They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds, “The Lord of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron).” (Quran 7:121-122)
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: “You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. (Quran 7:123)
“Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all.” (Quran 7:124)
They said: Surely to our Lord shall we go back:  “And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims.” (Quran 7:125-126)

Sins of Making the Prohibited Lawful

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari:

That he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying. "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful.

And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their Shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him,'Return to us tomorrow." Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection. "

Sahih al-Bukhari 5590

Reward of Seeking Knowledge

It was narrated that 'Abu' d-Darda' said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:

"Whoever follows a path in the pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.
The angels lower their wings in approval of the seeker of knowledge, and everyone in the heavens and on earth prays for forgiveness for the seeker of knowledge, even the fish in the sea. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like the superiority of the moon over all other heavenly bodies. The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets, for the Prophets did not leave behind dinars or dirhams, rather they left behind knowledge, so whoever takes it has taken a great share."

Narrated by at-tirmidihi ( 2682), Abu Dawood (3541) and Ibn Majah (223): Classed as Hassan by Al-Albani in Saheeh at-Targheeb 1/17

Loving each other for the sake of Allah

Abu Hurairah reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying:

A person visited his brother in another town and Allah deputed an Angel to wait for him on his way and when he came to him he said: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to go to my brother in this town. He said: Have you done any favour to him (the repayment of which you intend to get)? He said: No, excepting this that I love him for the sake of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. Thereupon he said:

I am a messenger to you from Allah: (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake)

Sahih Muslim 2567 a

Have Patience with Afflictions

Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"When Allah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He withholds his sins from him until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement."

And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said:" Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials,so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent then for him is wrath."

Jami`at-Tirmidhi 2396

The Kind of Envy that are Justified

Salim narrated on the authority of his father (Ibn `Umar) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ ) said:

Envy is not justified but in case of two persons only: One who, having been given (knowledge of) the Qur'an by Allah, recites it during the night and day ( and also acts upon it) and a man who, having been given wealth by God, spend it during the night and day (for the welfare of others, seeking the pleasure of Lord)

Sahih Muslim 815 a

Seven types of Martyrdom

Narrated Jabir ibn Atik:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There are seven types of Martyrdom in addition to be killed in Allah's cause:

One who dies of plague is a martyr;

One who is drowned is a martyr;

One who dies of pleurisy is a martyr;

One who dies of an internal complaint is a martyr; one who is burnt to death is a martyr;

One who is killed by a building falling on him is a martyr; and a woman who dies while pregnant is a martyr.

Sunan Abu Dawud 3111

Be like a Traveller

Mujahid narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) grabbed me on part of my body and said:' Be in the world like a stranger or a passerby, and count yourself among the inhabitants of the grave.'''Ibn 'Umar said to me :

"When you wake up in the morning, then do not concern yourself with the evening. And when you reach the evening, then do not concern yourself with the morning. Take from your health before your illness, and from your life before your death, for Indeed O slave of Allah! You do not know what your discription shall be tomorrow."

Jami`at-Tirmidhi 2333

Example of a Good Friend and a Bad Friend

Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The similitude of good company and that of bad company is that of the owner of musk and of the one (iron-smith) blowing bellows, and the owner of musk would either offer you free of charge or you would buy it from him or you would smell its pleasant odour, and so far as one who blows the bellows is concerned, he would either burn your clothes or you shall have to smell its repugnant smell.

Sahih Muslim 2628

The Unseen Knowledge only Allah knows About

Narrated Ibn `Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Keys of the unseen knowledge are five which nobody knows but Allah.... Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow;

Nobody knows what is in the womb.

Nobody knows what he will gain tomorrow.

Nobody knows at what place he will die.

And nobody knows when it will rain!

Sahih al Bukhari 1039

Advice of Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ)

Yahya related to me from Malik that Muadh ibn Jabal said, "The last advice the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave me when I put my foot in the stirrup was that he (.) said, 'Make your character good for the people,

Muadh ibn Jabal!'"

Muwata Malik 1

Surah Ibrahim 14:22

And Shaitan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you.
I had no authority over you except that
I called you, so you responded to me.
So blame me not, but name yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)"

Surah Ibrahim 14:22

If Allah loves a Person

Narrated Abu Hurairah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying, 'Allah loves so and-so; O Gabriel! Love him,' announcement amongst the inhabitants of the Heaven. 'Allah loves so-and-so therefore you should love him also,' and so all the inhabitants of the Heaven would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth."

Sahih al-Bukhari 3209
